I think the Lakers have an excellent chance of repeating, I believe that they got better with the acquisition of Ron Artest, but would have enjoyed keeping Artest and Ariza and then trading Luke Walton away instead.  The Lakers got Lamar Odom, but if I could trade him for Carlos Boozer and bring Boozer in as back up Power Forward for Gasol, I would do it in a heartbeat.

About The Los Angeles Lakers
A lot of people are complaining about the Lakers not playing good as a unit and lack of defense. In all reality, however the Lakers are not the same team as a year ago. Andrew Bynum had a huge injury and Gasol was added to the picture. In addition the Lakers came face to face with their inability to defend the paint. It is going to be a year long process for them to learn and practice solid defense on a consistent basis. I think that means we will need to be patient and wait for the end results and hope that they continue to work on these issues. In essence it is a completely new system to learn.
